EFCC Set To Invite Fayose’s Wife For Questioning

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is set to invite the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Feyistan Fayose for questioning over the sum of N100m paid into an account operated in her name and her husband’s.

The anti-graft agency disclosed that the money which was paid into the account operated by the couple emanated from the account of the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.

EFCC further revealed that the amount was paid on June 17, 2014, less than a week to the Ekiti Governorship polls into Spotless Investment Limited’s account operated with Zenith Bank Plc.

According to an EFCC detective, “N100m was paid into the Spotless Investment Limited account with number 1010170969 at Zenith Bank. The two signatories are Fayose, with Bank Verification Number 22338867502, and his wife, Helen Olayemi, with BVN 22298990256”.

The account implicated has since been frozen by the EFCC.

The source further added that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose cannot be brought in for questioning by the EFCC because of his immunity status but “His wife, however, has no immunity”.

An Ekiti State High Court, sitting in Ikole Ekiti, has sentenced two persons to death by hanging for murder.

Justice Abiodun Adesodun found Segun Adeyemo and Gboye Babaniwura guilty of murder of one Sikiru Amadu and Yeti Abubakar.

The convicts were said to have attacked the deceased persons on September 13, 2011 with dangerous weapons at Iluomoba Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state.

The trial judge held that such offence was criminal in nature as the evidence before the court had proved that the death of the people was masterminded by the convicts.

The defence counsel, Mr. Bode Kowe, during the trial, called three witnesses to prove the innocence of the convicts.

But Justice Adesodun held that they were guilty as charged and sentenced them to death by hanging.

The trial commenced since September 2013 when it was first mentioned.

A 90-year-old man, Pa Ajagunna Adalumo, father of a popular hotelier kidnapped

A 90-year-old man, Pa Ajagunna Adalumo, father of a popular hotelier, Oluwole Adalumo, was on Wednesday night kidnapped in his house at Oke-Ijebu, Ikole-Ekiti.

Oluwole Adalumo owns the SMJ Hotel, in Ikole, Ekiti State.

An eyewitness, Bimbo Ajayi, who is also a relative of the victim, in Ikole on Thursday, told journalists that the abductors came into the house of the aged man around 8.00 pm yesterday. According to Ajayi, one man came down from a car parked in front of the house and approached the old man in his sitting room under the pretence that he had a message for the old from his son, the hotelier. She narrated:
“When the abductor came out of the house alongside the old man, two other men from the car dragged Baba into their car and drove off before residents could suspect their mission.

“We raised alarm to prevent the abduction of Baba but they have left and we were unable to trail the vehicle.”

Also speaking on the abduction, Mr Festus Kolade, one of the youths in the area, said that the matter was immediately reported at the Police station while the search for  the old man has started.

Kolade who claimed to be a family member of the victim said the abductors were yet to make any contact with the family. What would have prompted the hoodlums to abduct the aged man? That was the question on the lips of relatives and friends of the victim, who were seen gathered in groups discussing in hushed tones.

A police officer at Divisional Police Station in Ikole, who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident but said he could not give details on the matter until investigation is completed. He assured that the nonagenarian would be located and regain freedom from his abductors.

Make up exam and Summer school approved in EKSU

This is a great achievement for team Prodigy, as we believe this tremendous achievement will forever remain in the heart of the majority and generations to come.
.
Couple of weeks ago,Team prodigy almost embarked on a constructive protest, which make-up examination for those that missed their first semester examination was part of the aims of the protest. This protest was eventually stopped when a reasonable dialogue came up between both parties. The Vice-Chancellor gave his verdict concerning the make up examination,as he said it will be tabled at the Senate meeting for approval.
.
We are happy to inform the entire populace that the make up examination has been approved by the management and necessary committee have also been put in place to fast track the commencement of the examination that will be coming up soonest. The date of the examination will be communicated as soon as it is fixed.
.
Summer school, another good news that will keep the majority amazed. Summer school which was the vision of the SUG president (PRODIGY) has now eventually become a reality. Summer school is a platfrom that allows students that have carry over(s) re-write those courses they have carried over. This will be done at the end of the semester, as a three week lecture will be done for those affected, after which the examination will commence .
.
We belief this great achievement will reduce the rate of spill over student been produced every session and will also give hope to those that are almost giving up on academics due to poor academic status.
.
We want to appreciate the school management for fulfilling their promises and also thank Nigerian students who had supported us to the bottom line of these great achievements
.
GOD BLESS EKSU-SU
GOD BLESS EKSU
GOD BLESS EKITI
GOD BLESS NIGERIA
